Yoga Class Descriptions

  • Purpose: Everyday - mobility, flexibility, and accessibility

    Duration: 25 minutes

Type of Movement: Simple movements in repetition that will reach deep muscle tissue in our bodies where stress is commonly carried: shoulders, hips, and heart/chest. Majority of our focus will be on posture and gentle movements.

Props: We may utilize props such as a yoga strap (alternative options: towel, belt, rope), yoga blocks (alternative option: stack of books), and/or a sturdy chair. A chair can be used for a variety of poses that may typically take place on the ground.

  • Purpose: Flexibility, balance, and pose challenges

    Duration: 50 minutes

Type of Movement: Focus asana poses can range from simple seated positions to a standing series that will challenge and enhance balance. We will open and close each session with a brief meditation to bring our minds where our feet are so that we can engage in these grounding movements from wherever we are.

Props: May vary based on class. Props encouraged, but not necessary.

  • Purpose: Strengthening, mental focus, and perseverance

    Duration: 45 minutes

Type of Movement: Different sequences for each session will ensure the body and mind is presented with something new every time, preventing the plateau that is common in the journey of progression. You will find a growing sense of determination and perseverance for the betterment of yourself after every session is completed.

Props: May vary based on class. Props encouraged, but not necessary.
